Here we go...

Okay, so unfortunately, this weeks blog is going to pale in comparison to last weeks blog. I'm just going to apologize in advance for that. This week was transfer week, so we spent a lot of time getting things ready for Elder 류 to leave. Lot's of packing, cleaning and member visits. Thursday was transfer day. In transfers past, usually there are maybe 10 or so trainers who get new missionaries at the start of the transfer. This time there were 25 of us. Yeah... the mission is exploding. So many new missionaries are coming. So we had some meetings in the morning and then it finally came time for us to find out who are new companions were. I was looking at all the fresh Americans, who just looked slightly frightened and completely oblivious to most of what was going on. It made me think of my greenie days. As I was looking at them, I kept trying to guess which one would be by new companion. When the AP read off my name, I found out that my new companions name was...이승환 (Lee Seung Hwan). That's right. Another Korean companion, except this time, I would be TRAINING the Korean companion. That definitely caught me by surprise. When I met him, I also found out another important detail. He doesn't speak English. Yeah... So from that point on, I have had to speak in Korean all day every day. It's been so rediculously hard, but it's really good for my Korean. With Elder 류, since he spoke English so well, we pretty much spoke in English most of the time, so I didn't get much speaking practice. I could understand quite a bit, but when I tried speaking it was just a disaster. Now, even though it's only been 3 days since I got my new companion, I would say that my speaking ability has at least doubled. The gift of tounges is so real it's not even funny. It's a little intimidating training someone who already speaks the language fluently, but I know things don't happen by accident, especially in missionary work, so I'm trusting that the Lord has a purpose for this and will help me. We have seen so many miracles in the last few days though. We found a family that wants to meet us. Their original intent is for us to teach their son English, but I have a feeling that we can change them to gospel interest :)
This week has been so crazy, incredibly stressful, but really empowering. I know the Lord has helped me progress by leaps and bounds this week alone. My new companion is full of fire and really wants to go go go, so I am incredibly hopeful about this next transfer.^^ Okay, sorry, but I don't have much more time today. The Church is true. Miracles do happen. Everyday. I love you all, and hope you have a good week!
