I'm in Love I'm in Love and I Don't Care Who Knows it!

Whew. Where did this week go? There were some important key points and then a lot of fluff, so I will just blur over the boring parts and give you the meat and potatoes of my week. So, at the beginning of the week I had this really interesting dream. I dreamed that I was in a missionary meeting of some sort, when all of a sudden, the mission president came in and started telling everybody that we were evacuating. So we all went to the airport and hopped on different planes to our respective newly assigned locations. When I got to my destination, I was in a wintery country city called Sweden, Missouri. I talked with the bishop of the ward for a little bit, but then all of a sudden, the realization that I wasn't serving in Korea anymore hit me like a ton of bricks. I started saying, "no, I want to go back to Korea. Let me go back. I don;t care if I would be able to speak English here. I'm not finished. I need to go back etc." There was more stuff blah blah blah, then I woke up. That was part 1.
Then we went to our Mission Tour in Daejeon and said goodbye to our mission president, his wife and all the missionaries who would be transferring to Seoul South Mission. It was fun and sad but really good overall. Then at the end of the meeting, some of the missionaries who are going home at the end of this transfer bore their testimonies. There was a lot of people who said "it really doesn't feel like it's been (1&1/2 or 2) years already" and similar things. On the train ride home, I looked out the window and thought about my short mission so far, and everything that had happened and realized that I am quickly transitioning from being a new missionary to being one of the standard/older missionaries. (Quick fun fact, there are already more people in the mission newer than me than there are people older than me. So even though I am not that old in the mission, I am rapidly becoming one of the "older missionaries"...weird) Anyway, as I was thinking that and watching the gorgeous Korean sunset behind the beautiful green hills and rice fields (I'm actually not being dramatic. That is really what I was looking at. I live in paradise! :P) I kind of became a little overcome. That was part 2. Part 1 and part 2 together made me realize, that whether I like it or not (and I do like it) I am in love with my mission. Of course, I liked it just fine before that, but I don't think it had really become a part of me yet. Now it is. And of course, as soon as I realized that, the days started speeding by at double time.
Anyway, I'm in love. With my mission :)
The rest of the week was pretty standard and the language has been steadily improving, so 3 cheers for that^^ Oh wait!! I forgot to tell you about Yeongwol. For those of you who don't remember, Yeongwol is where the garden of Eden was. I know people say it was at Adam Ondi Ahman (probably spelled wrong) but that's simply because they hadn't ever seen Yeoungwol, Korea. SO BEAUTIFUL!! Anyway, it was a little tenebrific when we first got there, but it wasn't raining yet, so Elder 류 and I went and did some proselyting. We were supposed to meet our member at the bus station, but I would like to remind you that this was the 2nd time I have been back to Yeongwol since I have been in Jecheon. We don't go there very often. So we weren't exactly sure where it was. We had plenty of time though, so we decided that we would go out and work and just try to find it as we go. Well... we got stuck. Out of nowhere it started raining cats and dogs. Elder 류 had forgotten his umbrella, so we only had my little $5 one from walmart and we both had bags full of books and such that shouldn't get wet if we can help it. So we had to duck under a pavilion of a nearby store and try to wait out the storm. Well, the rain just kept coming, and coming. And coming. Finally, it was do or die time. We had to go otherwise we wouldn't be able to meet our member on time. We both curled up under my umbrella and went out in the floods.
My little umbrella wasn't helping much, and it kept collapsing on us. We also kept slipping in water puddles and were getting soaked from head to toe anyway. Also, since we had no idea where we were going we, we actually ended up walking about 5 minutes in the wrong direction. (Keep in mind that this wasn't discouraging to us. Rather, we were laughing our heads off the whole time at the hilarity of the situation) Finally, we decided to just ditch the umbrella altogether and book it. We ran and ran, still not entirely sure where we were going, when all of a sudden we heard a car horn honking at us. It was our member!! Thank goodness he saw us, otherwise we for sure would have just kept running to who knows where. We got in his car, soaking wet and he took us to a restaurant. Guess what we ate. I will give you a hint. It's called 우족탕. Still don't know what it is? I will give you another hint. It's cow foot soup. Oh darn, I accidently gave it away. Yeah... I ate cow foot soup. I will just describe it to you with one word. Chewy.
So yeah, that was my exciting adventure in Yeongwol. I love it there :) Then yesterday we got to watch the "Hastening the Work of Salvation" broadcast. EVERYBODY GO WATCH THAT RIGHT NOW!! I seriously wish I could watch that everyday for the rest of my life. It was SO GOOD!! Total recharge of mission energy for me. I love this gospel!!
Okay, well I've blabbed on enough. Such a good week! The church is true. Don't forget it!!
