This week was pretty cool. We were busy with yet another meeting and
we are still not finished. I can't believe how fast this transfer is
going.
So, let me just tell you about yesterday, because I've gotta tell you,
it was one of the cooler days of my mission so far.
So, as you all know, this last week was fast Sunday. In the past, on
fast Sundays, my companions and I would just do our own fasts and
didn't coordinate anything or do anything special together. This time
though, I wanted to try something a little different. Elder Lee and I
are trying really hard to weed out just mayweather investigators who
don't really have gospel interest and just find the people who the
Lord really has prepared for us. That being said, Saturday afternoon,
as we started our fast, Elder Lee and I knelt together and said a
companionship fasting prayer. We fasted that we could become better
missionaries and that the Lord would help us find investigators who
would listen to our message.
Later that evening, as Elder Lee and I were outside, we decided to
call a phone number we had gotten from a woman I had met a long while
back. She is not Korean, in fact, she is from Thailand. She doesn't
speak Korean and speaks a little bit of VERY broken English. Because
of that, we had not contacted her for a long time because there are no
Thai speaking missionaries anywhere close to our mission. But, we
decided to follow the prompting and invite her to church. Amazingly,
she accepted.
The next day at church, just as promised, she came. Since Elder Lee
can not speak English, I had to basically do all of the teaching and
explaining. During the meeting however, another miracle happened. A
woman and her two children walked in the door and sat down. At first I
though maybe it was a member of another ward or just a less active who
finally decided to come to church. Nope. This woman just decided that
she wanted to go to church and came. So our fast was answered with not
just 1 investigator, but 1 investigator and a family of investigators.
Both are solid gospel interest too. There are more details about each
that I don't really have time to convey, but suffice it to say, I
gained a HUGE testimony of fasting with faith yesterday. My companion
always says "The Lord loves Jecheon". I agree. We are seeing miracles
and progress like no other here. It's a complete turn around of how
things were here with my last companion.
Sorry this is pretty short again, but I just really wanted to share
that. It was such a cool experience and makes me want to be all the
better so that the Lord will continue to trust me with people like
this. The Church is true everybody. Fasting works! Life is great^^
